Your eyeglasses will be an integral part of your every day routine and in order for them to function at their best and for you to be able to enjoy them for as long as possible, it is important to care for them properly. Here are a few tips for caring for your eyewear.
MAINTAING YOUR GLASSES WILL ENSURE THAT THE QUALITY PRODUCT WE PROVIDE WILL STAY THAT WAY FOR A LONG TIME.
- CLEAN YOUR LENSES EVERY DAY. Make sure to rinse the lenses first to remove any dust or dirt that may scratch them. Use a mild soap and warm water to remove oil and grime. We suggest using the commercial cleaner we have in the office to remove smudges and fingerprints.
- DON'T SUBSTITUTE. Windex and other home cleaning products are to harsh. There are many special coatings that are applied to your lenses. These coatings can be sensitive to other chemicals.
- DRYING YOUR LENSES. wipe in a circular motion to remove the water or cleaner. We recommend a microfiber cloth or a nonabrasive 100% cotton cloth. Do Not use the tail of your shirt, sweater, or bath towel. **Avoid paper products such as paper towels or tissue. These products can contain wood fibers and can scrath your lenses (Be sure to wash your microfiber cloth WITHOUT Fabric Softner).
- WHEN GLASSES ARE NOT ON YOUR FACE, KEEP THEM IN THE CASE. A case is given to you to protect your eyeglasses. Do not rest the glasses face down on the lenses. This will almost guarantee scrathed lenses.
- Always use two hands when putting on or taking off your eyeglasses. This will prevent them from bending out of shape.
- AVOID HIGH TEMPERATURES. Both lenses and frames can become damaged when exposed to excessive heat. Avoid leaving your glasses in the car.
- IF YOU NEED ADJUSTMENTS. Do not try to adjust them yourself. We have 4 licensed Opticians on staff that have the proper tools and know how to properly adjust them.
